The latest from Brooklyn-based designer Emily Vislocky are a provocative (literally) pair of tables titled “Poke & Squeeze.” The set of tables, which she calls “uncomfortably anthropomorphic,” fit together in a way much like humans do in a purely physical way. The drawer fronts are made from flexible dip-molded pastic, and “beckon users to engage with surprisingly, and, perhaps uncomfortably, human-like interface.”

Fermob, a French firm specializing in outdoor furniture, has invited Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to reinterpret some of their most iconic offerings. He’s added romance and colored roundels to his chosen reference points. Some of the pieces will go on sale direct from Fermob next week, while some signed and numbered items will be auctioned off. Winners of the auction will be invited to join Jean-Charles at October’s fashion week. (via Viacomet).
