Oscar Magnus Narud’s ‘Keel’ collection employs an ingenious joinery solution in which keel-shaped legs are fitted into a rough Douglas Fir table top, and secured underneath with a hefty Ashwood wedge. “Keel” draws inspiration from traditional Norwegian furniture, but is sympathetic to the contemporary domestic environment. The table can easily be taken apart for moving or storage.

Uhuru, a Brooklyn based furniture company, has designed the Boardwalk Table as an ode to Coney Island. The table stands for the areas duality, dreary winters followed by vibrant summers. The wood itself is actually reclaimed from the old Coney Island boardwalk – Uhuru is all about sustainability and this piece is actually part of a larger “Coney Island series.”
