Jeff Newman, of The Art Collectors, reports live from the corner of Houston and Bowery, NYC, where Barry McGee has just completed his commission on the Tony Goldman sanctioned art wall. McGee (aka Twist) worked with long-time collaborator Amaze, and the duo follow in the footsteps of Os Gemeos and Shepard Fairey as the third official exhibitors on the space.

You may recall the wall opened with a reproduction Keith Haring mural and that there were reports of vandal graffiti tagging to the work. Is McGee responding to this in his tag heavy mural?

More images from Mr. Newman after the jump.

Russian constructivism is the stated influence of these new outdoor installations by Spanish street artist Skount. The sculpture and collage are found in Almagra, Spain, and I love both the juxtaposition with building and with nature. Additionally, the color pop is effective in the local, though I’m responding more to the shapes. (via Unurth).

hurtyoubad graphics 01 front Hurtyoubad Topsafe T Shirts

Since 2003, Hurtyoubad has covered the global graffiti scene (with a little London bias). The site has now partnered with Topsafe London on a limited edition run of artist driven t-shirts.

Topsafe represents some of the worlds most prolific graffiti writers. Hurtyoubad is one of the most established graffiti resources. The t-shirts make sense.

The line features artwork from an international lineup of artists; Horfé from Paris, Egs from Helsinki, Finsta from Stockholm and Hefs and Siege from London. Using the Hurtyoubad name as a common theme the artists have lent their well established aesthetics to the tees.

The full range is shown in full graphic glory after the jump. There are also some shots with a gorgeous model. Hurtyoubad t-shirts are available here.
