As far as shoe shop interiors go, Camper always sets a high standard (in my opinion). The designers the company works with offer just enough personality to the stark retail stage to keep the set Camper sales platform from getting dull. In Malmo, the site of Camper’s first Swedish outpost, TAF (the firm of Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Stahlbom) drew from the old saying “everyone loves ice cream.” This is most apparent in the shops furnishings, taking clear cue from Popsicle sticks. Vanilla colored rubber forms the curtains, the color echoed in floor and ceiling. (via David Report).

Shanghai-based HUGE Architects devised a flexible space for Beijing streetwear store Source. Their requirements were to keep the space free flowing, with allowance for swift and easy change. The one concession, it seems, is the centerpiece – a 9-meter shoe tower based on the concept of stacking shoe boxes.The remainder of the interior is inspired by fashion warehouse racking systems. With the current trend for urban cycling reaching dizzying heights there is no surprise that shops designed to cater to the subsequent needs are popping up with greater frequency. These spots are often characterized by a greater interest in design than the average bike store. Superb, opening to the public this Friday, is no exception. The interior of the store was executed by Oziio Design, and is influenced by the original Victorian era aesthetic and the sweeping curves of the Velodrome.

Over the weekend the V&A opened their first ever dedicated book shop. Located in South Kensington, not far from the museum itself, the shop is designed with the student and enthusiast in mind. Think a full range of art and design with all the theory one might need thrown in. The space was designed with aid from Vitsoe, who’ve got an eye for shelving. (via Wallpaper*).
