As a part of his Post no Bills event in Venice CA, recently, Ron English paid a visit to a local Ralph’s supermarket with some custom cereal boxes pictured above.  The caption for this photo on English’s site reads, “Find a box, send it to Ron and he’ll sign it.”

Ron English and crew recently paid a visit to the infamous ruins of the Detroit Packard plant. English explains, “Abandoned for nearly 50 years, the Packard Plant has become a mecca for artists and urban explorers. We had to check it out!”

The latest limited edition MTN arrives in a can splashed with a scantily clad gun-toting cowgirl, courtesy of artist Ron English. English, whose work typically explores (and exploits) the worlds of advertising and brand imagery, talks about some of his latest work in the following video. Large images of Marilyn Monroe, skulls, and installations fill his studio as he discusses painting vs. silkscreening, running from the cops, little kids as muses, and going through hundreds of paint brushes a week.

Zarkana, a new show with a related art project by Cirque Du Soleil, has released a new print by Ron English. It is the third and final in a series, which has also included work by Travis Louie and Tara McPherson. English chose the Jovian character for his piece, inspired by Munch’s “The Scream,” which translates well to the pop surrealists aesthetic.

Ron English will be painting live this Thursday, July 14, at New York’s Kidrobot store. His canvas, a full size Dunny, appears to allow for some very creative working. The full story may be read over at Arrested Motion.

Plastic and Plush share news of the latest Ron English toy collaboration. “ZacPac has announced Ron English’s newest vinyl toy – Mousemask Murphy in Airplane Stealth Version. Based on Ron’s artwork, this piece stands in at 6.5″ tall. It will debut at the upcoming Popaganda in Japan show in early July, will be available on ZacPac’s website following that, and should show up at Toy Tokyo’s San Diego Comic Con booth. This version is limited to only 100 pieces, so I’m guessing they’ll be in short supply come SDCC.tion.”

Celebrating 5 years, Corey Helford Gallery opens Zero to Sixty on July 1, 2011, an ambitious and exciting group show. Highlight artists shown past and present, Zero to Sixy is highlighted by a large scale digital paint-by-numbers work by San Francisco’s Eric Joyner. He’s among 65 artists sharing work… meaning there should be enough to suit most tastes and a the list of names is certainly enough to tickle the fancy of most art fans.

From 24 June Lazarides Gallery will present Skin Deep, an exhibition of multi-layered pop portraits by Ron English. The show proves English’s reverence for art history’s greats, including Warhol, Pollock and Picasso.
