Sicksystems is the design alter ego of Moscow-based graffiti writer Aske. His artistic breadth progressed quickly from writing on walls to writing the future. That statement may seem a bit contrived, but Sicksystems was tapped to provide Moscow’s stamp on the Nike “Write the Future” campaign for the World Cup. The sculpture combines a few of Aske’s talents – installations and typography especially.

As a firm, Sicksystems began in 2003 as a trio, Aske taking full reign last year. He is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Code Red, Russia’s top graffiti rag.

Recently we presented to you some Nike windrunners re-contructed by designer Vinti Andrews. The next project were two Pitbulls made out of Nike iD sneakers. One of them is at Loveless store in Japan and the other one is in London, and that’s the one we can give you a detailed look at here. Via Joes(a)fiend.

The Cassette Playa x Nike Blazer will be released globally next week. For the occasion the UK brand has created a special installation at the 21 Mercer Nike Sportswear flagship store. In true Cassette Playa style, lots of color, funky characters and of course the sneakers, are on display. Via Carri Munden.

Project zoltar, the art and design collective have been commissioned by iconographic sportswear colossus Nike with all new art works and an installation at the Georgian society to coincide with London’s frieze art fair. Nikes origins as the winged goddess of victory in Greek and roman mythology set the tone for a series of etchings and sculptures. Although the departure point was Alice in wonderland, Alice has become a less significant figure than the wonderland itself.

Classic Nike trainers can drive some really bizarre and fascinating art pieces. Take, for example, this collaborative project between design agency Defill and Milcke. Using fruits and vegetables, the project makes sculptural versions of sneakers, and the result, honestly, kind of works. The textures are, dare we say, far more interesting than some real releases.

Carrie Munden of Cassette Playa has created an impressive installation for Nike Sportswear London. Entitled "Split", the installation was inspired by the Nike Split Windrunner. You can create your own split avatar and get a limited edition videoringtone, downloadable to your phone. 
Sound and Sonics of the installation were created by Silverlink. You can view the installation now at Selfridges in London.

Moscow is one of the eight European cities where Nike Sportswear opened its concept space named 1980 after games that were held this year.. Nike Sportswear is an interpretation of Nike iconic products which is celebrating the legacy of Nike design. During 64 days starting from August, 8 the store will be displaying five legendary Nike products. To tell Nike Sportswear stories Nike collaborates with modern artists, photographers and DJ’s whose art-objects, photos, installations and music will make historic and cultural context visible.

The installation made by Sicksystems (www.sicksystems.ru), a Moscow based crew of graphic designers and graffiti writers was inspired by Nike Air Force 1 sneakers and we present it to you in detail today here.

While the show also hits Miami, these items are from the original Swiss outpost.  We’ve picked a few of our favorites, including some examples from Nike’s Art of Football. All a bit of artistic fun for this years European Cup.
