After Hurricane Irene had weather channels everywhere getting hyped, this video’s Al Roker-esque opening scene delivers some laughs before the storm.

Carmichael Gallery presents “Ghost of Old Highways,” an inventive short film from the band Lovett telling a story of love, the hunt, escapism, rebellion and fate with vivid imagery, original costumes and props, and an soundtrack that serves as more of a score to the suspenseful, fast-paced short film. The exhibit will also feature stills taken by the Dorn Brothers during the shooting of the film.

The opening reception is Wednesday, August 10, and the film will show through August 13. You can watch the trailer and download the film’s song here.
