Loving Phlegm’s work of late. The artist will be joining forces with ROA soon for an awesome collection of new works in London. Be on the look out for that.
Wooster Collectivehas the first look at Belgian artist ROA’s new work in Mexico. Typically large in scale, and with the now familiar emphasis on animal forms.
Animal New Yorkreports, “Kenny Scharf returned to his defaced mural on Houston Street earlier this evening and began renovating it with spray paint. Last week, the artist told a reporter who doesn’t credit others properly, that he would fix the wall, despite the high probability that it will be repeatedly vandalized, ‘If it gets hit once, it’s all downhill after that. If there’s another blizzard, they’ll just do it again.’”
Located at the Riverside Parking lot in Rotherham, Phlegm’s latest mural was posted by the artist on January 22, 2011. Being a fan of whales and ships, the piece has great personal appeal.
After showing images of Roa in NY, I’m sharing some of the Belgian’s work from Miami today. Thanks go to Wooster Collective.
After the jump is a mural that has absolutely nothing to do with Roa, but was also posted on WC. It’s from Belarus and it is super cool (in my opinion).
INSA is the latest artist to join the LA Freewalls Project. His “Heels Mural” is most appropriate, finding form on the wall of The Playpen, a downtown LA gentleman’s club. A thrilling follow up to his work with Kid Zoom. (via JetSet).
Back in late September, I previewed Jose Parla’s mural commission in Toronto. The work, completed on behalf of Concordia Pacific at Concord CityPlace, is now fully finished. In celebration, the folks at The Ministry of Artistic Affairs connected with Parla for a terrific interview. Read it here.
