As reported earlier in the month, Julian Schnabel’s Venice Biennale display comes in the form of a personalized Maybach. The car features some sixty names written next to bullet holes. The unusual work, titled “The Ones You Did Not Write”, will remain on view through November 27, 2011.

In a city without cars, Julian Schnabel’s Venice Biennale work, The Ones You Didn’t Write – The Maybach Car”, certainly stands out. The work, essentially a vandalized test car, drawings by Vahakn Arslanian inside the windows and Schnabel’s scrawl on the body. It has also been shot at. A take on luxury, and a whole lot more.
