The winners of the Keds Design Competition, sponsored by Lord & Taylor and the Fashion Institute of Technology, have been announced.

On Thursday 7/21, Lord & Taylor and Keds will present the Fashion Institute of Technology winners of the Keds Design competition!

Stop by Lord & Taylor and get an exclusive look at the winners of the Keds design competition, meet the FIT students behind them and enjoy on-site Keds customization, cupcakes, live music and models wearing Keds!  As a bonus, Lord & Taylor will be giving away a GWP tote bag with every Keds purchase.

The winners are Lisa Bellissimo, Letisha Marsh, Svetlana Yermak, and Monica Yong Yang. Marsh’s shoe is shown above, check all the other designs after the jump.

Several weeks ago, I made note of the KedsWhitney sneaker collection featuring the work of Jenny Holzer. The partnership also includes sponsorship of the Whitney Museum’s summer season (through September 2010). In this venture, KedsWhitney has taken over windows at the Bloomingdale’s flagship (59th and Lexington Ave, New York, NY), displaying both the sneakers and offering a special venue for live painting.

Through July 21, 2010, three MFA students – Jee Young Choi, Natalia Yovane and Erica Greenwald – will be playing their trade in the window spaces. Pegged as an opportunity to celebrate the American spirit, it is also simply a great place to just get a glimpse of the artistic process.

Conceptual artist Jenny Holzer provides the spark for the KedsWhitney collection. The classic Champion – in low and hi-top – silhouette for the canvas for the set, which comes in simple white and black options. Exclusive to Bloomingdale’s and Keds.com, the shoes hit market on July 8, 2010.

The collection is part of Keds larger commitment to the Whitney through their sponsorship of the Whitney Museum of American Art summer season running July 1 to August 31, 2010. Included is the Christian Marclay: Festival and Whitney Live Presented by Keds Friday music series.
