Bit of a “design star” theme today. Zaha Hadid’s work for British company triflow brings her flowing lines to the sink. Thought as a “formal expression of the flow of liquid” the tap has a dedicated spout from drinking water. Technology like this separation define the functionality. Operation is driven by a touch-sensitive button. (via DB).

Whether this design will stand as future of taps may be up to debate.

Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999, Marc Newson’s Ford 021C was designed with the young driver in mind. Young drivers under the age of 21, to be exact. Italian furniture manufacturer B+B was brought in to produce the seats, just one indicator of the amount of specialized thought that went into each aspect of the automobile.

Yatzer has posted a review of the car – 10 years on. Questions about why it was never produced are raised. Furthermore, the piece is a tidy recap of the design, and everything that went into Newson’s attempt.
