New York-based designer Steve Nishimoto has given the classic toy soldier a subtle twist, incorporating a skateboard into already familiar poses.

Toy designer, Sergey Safonov, dreamed of space travel all throughout his childhood in Russia. As a kid, Sergey was surrounded with space memorabilia: He had tons of space related-books and magazines, space food (tiny bricks of bread and space tubes) and April 12th was a family holiday. The only problem Sergey had with space toys was that all of them were replicas of spaceships and mechanisms, and he was looking for characters with which to play and tell stories. Now Sergey Safonov is grown up with a young son of his own, so he is trying to create his own space character: Luno the Moon Rover.

British designer Mark Ward draws out an unlikely source of inspiration – basketball – for his Medicom BE@RBRICK figure. He says, “”Spinning basketballs on my finger for eternity was something I always wanted to be able to do as a kid – I’ll never make a Harlem Globetrotter, but I can make my BE@RBRICK into one… ” The perfect gift for the Medicom (and hoops) fiend in your family.

Sick Boy is a British street artist who rather than tagging his name, leaves a trademark logo wherever he goes. This logo, or one of several derivations, is the temple. Typically done in yellow and red the temple has now found life on walls throughout the world. Stepping forward, Sick Boy has transfered his trademark from 2 to 3-dimensional with the release of  a hand cast resin 3D model. Four versions are available each representing a a theme (love, piece, happiness, death) and limited to a run of 24. Purchase one here.

MCA of Evil Design & TOY2R are proud to present the new book ‘Simian Nation.’ This is Toy2R’s first publication in a new series of Artist Collection Books. ‘Simian Nation’ is 96 full color pages, 200 mm x 148 mm, soft cover with the first edition limited to 1000 copies.
