Hi-Fructose has a tremendous review of Audrey Kawasaki’s new work, completed for an upcoming solo exhibition in Los Angles. The magazine says, “Hi-Fructose fave Audrey Kawasaki will be showing a new body of work this weekend at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles. Earlier in the month, we previewed the new works by Femke Hiemstra, who will be joining Kawasaki as well as DeeDee Cheriel for this Saturday night’s opening. In addition to the sensual paintings for which Kawasaki has become so well regarded, the artist continues on her use of hand cut paper portraits, a fitting medium for her already delicate subjects.”

Jewelry doesn’t get a ton of coverage here, but these brooches by Audrey Kawasaki nicely translates the artists work to a now popular accessory form – wooden pins. The engraved wooden pieces are hand glossed and limited to a run of 1200.

Kawasaki originally produced them for Baby Tattooville 2009. They will be limited to one per customer and sold directly through her website. (via Arrested Motion).
