James DeWulf’s first light fixture, the Triton Pendant, stands at sixteen inches of solid brass. A refined Gothic form, the pendant lamp is in DeWulf’s words, “a celebration of light.  The design is a control of negative space while the fixture honors and protects the light.” Each light comes with 10 feet of chain for unique hanging potential.

During the Spring of 2011, the Milwaukee Art Museum’s ArtWorks Program invited local teens to explore the connection between digital arts and traditional craft. “In conjunction with “The New Materiality: Digital Dialogues at the Boundaries of Contemporary Craft,” a talented group of high school students explored the boundaries between digital art and traditional craft through a paid internship program. Interns worked with Museum staff and resident artists at RedLine Milwaukee to create artworks in response to the ideas and concepts presented in the exhibition. Through discussion, critical reflection, conversations with exhibition curators, a unique teach to learn component and hands-on studio practice, interns were exposed to new artistic ideas, careers, and technical skills.”

Wes Lang and Stumptown Coffee have come together for a quartet of tattoo inspired mugs. I like them. Why? Because I am a sucker for any tattoo inspired home goods…. regardless of how poor the graphic integrity. Here, luckily, things are on the high end. (via TWBE).
