ROA has posted a new mural, this one in Los Angeles, to FLICKR. Located on Imperial Street, downtown LA.

Just a reminder, the artist currently has a show at Skalitzers in Berlin.

Artist Boris Hoppek had a field day at the 2011 iteration of Fame Festival. There he expressed a shrewd sense of space in the installation shown above, produced some stunning murals, and turned literal pieces of crap into art.

He also choreographed a dance of two plastic bags. See that, and more, after the jump.

“The first in a series of short documentaries focusing on the culture of Urban Exploring, those who risk it all to access and infiltrate closed or forgotten spaces.”

In essence, the series surveys graffiti styles from around the world.

Hold Up Art opens “Subversive Holiday,” the first solo exhibition for the prolific Wheat Paste artist Septerhed on August 6, 2011.

Known for his plurality of designs and characters, Septerhed has earned a respected place in the Street Art circles of Los Angeles.  Though his background in illustration and graphic design helped to inform his visual aesthetics, it is Septerhed’s sarcasm and sense of humor that make his images not only enjoyable, but memorable.  Generally Septerhed’s images tend to originate from a digital composition, and are reproduced through either silkscreening, or by hand with acrylic paints.  “Subversive Holiday” features a closer examination of three of Septerhed’s most recognizable characters (The GEO-HEDs, Toxins and Wolves), explaining the existence and nuances of each style as a specific mode of design.  The exhibition will also feature a Limited Edition Giclee Print, “Don’t Mind Me” released exclusively through Hold Up Art.

The exhibition will run through September 1, 2011.

Roa hits Berlin this tomorrow with a two fold agenda – one, open Transit at Skalitzers Contemporary Art; two, launch his new book, ROA: An Introduction To Animal Representation.

Transit, the exhibition, focuses on the cycle of life through works produced during a ten day passage in Berlin. The new material will be on view through August 6, 2011.

My friends over at Living Proof caught Kenny Scharf in the act of painting his latest mural – located at 13th and Samsom in Philadelphia, PA. Two of the artist’s signature creatures form the start of the project, with much more to come as the week closes out.

Shepard Fairey hits V1 Gallery from August 5, 2011 for a new show titled Your Ad Here. The exhibition will run through September 3, 2011 and features newly produced work consistent with Fairey’s traditional output.

The show will be followed by a number of public walls produced in a collaboration between Fairey and the Copenhagen City Council.

One of several SheOne woks in the current Rudimentary Perfection exhibition at Glasgow’s Recoat, “Virgo” is a wonderful example of the artist’s abstract typography. Done with spray paint on paper, the painting measures at 53 x 53 centimeters.This original work of art is available from Recoat for 500 pounds.
