If you are not already in the know, French photographer Sacha Goldberg has an ongoing series about superhero grandparents. Super Mamika was created to cheer up Goldberg’s 91 year old Grandmother. After the first series, he was then inspired created Mister Papika, the jovial suitor of Mamika. Since then Mamika has dumped Mister Papika for Dark Papouka, for better or worse… If the evolution of the story is confusing, no need to worry, the images are fun all on their own. Intricate and astounding, this chair took six months to make. As stated by Kyouei Design:

This chair was handmade by Kouichi Okamoto himself, spent over 6 months for one chair. It was created by bending aluminium wire and crossing it one by one. No bolts or welding is used at all. The tools used for this design are only a jig and a pair of pliers.

Filmed by Chris Mulhern, New York City based skateboard company 5BORO recently released their 2011 holiday clip. Things have come a long way, in terms of skateboarding short films. The video includes beautiful buttery footage from around various New York City neighborhoods. Oh yeah, and the skateboarding is pretty impressive, too. Check out the film after the jump. Christoph Niemann tweeted his NYC Marathon run live from the race, bringing new meaning to art on the run. According to Laughing Squid,

The New York Times cartoonist Christoph Niemann not only ran the 2011 New York City Marathon but live-tweeted his on-the-fly drawings of the entire experience. Towards the end of the race, he had to create a new Twitter account because he was apparently over-posting on his original account. His accounts @abstractsunday and @abstractsunday1 house all of his race illustrations
