  1. This cardboard robot is from the manga Yotsuba which is a pretty funny slice of life story about a 5 year old girl living with her father.

    I hope the artist gives credit to where the idea of the “cardboard people” actually came from, as these aren’t even trying to hide the fact that they are exact copies. Copyright infringement seems to be in, in art these days. It’s name is Danbo the cardboard robot and you can find the toys of it from about a year ago.

    So go google Yotsuba and Danbo and see what you get.

  2. Actually I found a more informative interview with Anton Tang and he does say that these are pictures of Danbo and if you see the rest of the pics of the series he is taking pictures of manga toys in scenes he set up.

    He does not claim to have “meticulously sculpted” these as I was lead to believe by this article.
