New Gif-itti from INSA

As part of there latest exhibition Animate Everything opening today (Thursday July 21, 2011) Protein invited INSA to create one of his innovative GIF-ITTI pieces on the side of there new head quarters- 18 Hewett St. INSA spent 4 days painting and repainting the entire side of this 3 story building to produce the final animated wall entitled ‘Summer Spectrum’.

“Gif-itti is a new form of animated wall art, pioneered by UK artist INSA. They are wall paintings that can only truly be viewed online, where these days the majority of ’street’ art is seen. These works exaggerate the ephemeral nature of graffiti as each layer is painted instantly over the last. Mixing retro internet technology and labour intensive painting, INSA creates slices of infinite un-reality, cutting edge art for the tumblr generation.”

Animate Everything runs to August 15, 2011.
