Recap | Jessica Rohrer “Oakridge Road”

Jessica Rohrer’s third solo exhibition at P.P.O.W runs through July 23, 2011. Through 24 new paintings, Oakridge Road, depicts a series of domestic interiors and suburban life from the artist’s own immediate surroundings. Influenced by photographers like Thomas Demand, Rohrer paints with staggering precision and deftly balances what is and is not rendered in the vignettes. Rohrer’s spaces are, to an extent, sanitized – her version of hyper-realism idealizing her subjects.
