KAWS “Passing Through” at the Standard NY

KAWS’ international touring sculpture, a massive Companion, reached it’s Summer home today – the Standard Hotel in New York City. “Passing Through” until October, 2011, the piece has previously enjoyed stints at the Aldrich Museum and in Hong Kong.
We were on hand to watch Mr. Donnelley install. Above is the Companion head still on the flat bed, just an indication of the sculpture’s scale.

Much more after the jump.
