I’ve been total charmed by this refurbished home in Portland, Oregon. At the hands of Atelier Waecheter, a simple Cape Cod house has been transformed into a multistory home highlighted by gloriously simple fenestration. Built on exactly the same footprint… and retaining the original front steps, the home received a 2010 AIA Portland Built Merit Award. Not at all surprising, as the conception of space, capped by a roof deck, is spectacular. (via ArchDaily).
