Street Art Manhole Covers in Milan

For years, Japanese manhole covers have featured bright and colorful artistic designs. Now, thanks to street art legends like Shepard Fairey, The London Police, and Invader, Milan has something to brag about too. Those artists have, with a push from the Don Gallery, provided wrought iron covers to decorated main arteries in the city.
Flying Fortress and Rendo are also on board and the work will remain in use for two years. (via Gltn).
More of this fun and inventive project after the jump.

Spreading art where people are is worthwhile, even if only temporary. Street music only lasts as long as it’s playing, yet it’s value remains as art and as a positive addition to the scene.
