Ramei Keum “Pisa” Sofa

South Korean designer Ramei Keum plays with notions of stability in the “Pisa” sofa series. Inspiration drawn from a certain leaning tower, the sofas fall forwards to promote a sense of imbalance. The form itself is simple, an upholstered wooden frame sitting on a stainless steel base. However, the movement successfully captures Keum’s vision and gives personality to an otherwise supremely convenient piece of furniture.
