Matt Campbell ‘Out of the Black’

Matt Cambell will debut his newest series “Out of the Black” in a solo exhibition beginning this weekend at New York’s Gallery Hanahou (611 Broadway, Suite 730). Commenting on the disposable environments, Cambell endeavours to make objects that are at once attractive and repulsive. Stuffed toys, the primary found object in the series, take a dark glossy coating. His intent is to bring out a range of emotion – is it cute? is it dark?
The series will be on view from April 1 to April 30, 2010.
More “Out of the Black” creations after the jump.
