Patrick Hoelck “TAR”

Opening on March 26, 2010, at Pool Gallery, Patrick Hoelck’s “TAR” challenges the slick production of his previous work in commercial advertising. The work is raw, unstaged, and allows the subjects to appear as they are. Hoelck’s desire here, to circumnavigated the perceptions of perfection often presented in photography, give the material in “TAR” a rough shot look. To further the feel, he has moved away from digital to traditional film, and with that shift away from post production. Also included in the exhibition are works from the “Hotel” series (example above).

“TAR” will run to May 3, 2010, at Pool Gallery. The exhibition is his first solo showing in Berlin.
