Beyond Skin focus attention away from Don Ed Hardy’s tattooing (and obviously away from clothing) to enliven discussion of his work as a print maker, painter, and illustrator. To say that traditional arts were his first love would be a bit bold, as his interest in tattooing came early, but Hardy’s artistic breadth speaks to an interest in a range of practice and medium.
