Hermitage Amsterdam

On July 19, 2009, the Hermitage Amsterdam opened to the public. Transforming a 17th-century building, Hans Van Heeswijk Architects created a brilliant space to house the Russian State Museum’s Dutch outpost. In celebration of the completion, NDCC Publishers has produced a photo heavy book detailing the new museum and its interiors. Apart from the photographs of Luuk Kramer, the volume also includes a series of essays from Ernst Veen, director of the Hermitage, and architect Hans Van Hesswijk. Out now in Dutch, look for the English version in September.
