Richard Kern Retrospective at Rental
05 June 2009, 20.18 | Posted in Art | 2 comments »

In the 1980s Richard Kern produced short films that would become central to the Cinema of Transgression movement. In the 1990s, his attention focused full time to photography. Challenging social norms remained a consistent thread in Kern’s work even with the change in medium. Through July 5, a retrospective of Kern’s photography is on view at New York’s Rental Gallery. The photographs are representative of Kern’s vision and his product prior to the turn of the millennium. (via Living Proof).
