Gerhard Richter “Portraits”
25 March 2009, 17.59 | Posted in Art | 2 comments »

One of the most important painters of contemporary art, Gerhard Richter’s portraiture takes its source and transfers it to an abstract and ethereal world. In the last year, he’s been exhibited in the Serpentine Gallery and the National Gallery in Scotland. The latest exhibition finds work returning to London, with Portraits fittingly at the Portrait Gallery. Included are paintings that range from the personal to Richter’s own exploration of historical event. (via AO).
Portraits is on at the National Portrait Gallery, London, to May 31, 2009.
